This may surprise some of you, but there are tons of fabulous Calgary based entrepreneurs making beautiful Children’s clothing. Up until a month ago, I really had no idea what was out there. It turns out, that I just didn’t know where to look. These days, Instagram is my go-to resource for discovering Calgary made kids clothing. Today I am featuring five Calgary based kids clothing companies that I you’ll love.
Sem label
SEM label was founded in 2015 by Kelsey Medynski. This awesome clothing line strives to care for the the environment and create well made garments. All of SEM Label’s clothing is made out of sustainable fabrics in a sustainable way. To reduce waste, most items are made to order, especially for you! SEM Label has incredibly stylish, modern and unfussy clothing that is perfect for both boys and girls.
wylo + co
Wylo + co specializes in baby friendly organic and handmade clothing. The Calgary based clothing line is a collaboration by two moms, Kate and Nina. Wylo + co is known for their adorable mini suede and leather mini loafers which come in a variety of beautiful colours. I really love the playful patterns and beautiful colour palette of their clothing and headbands.
Jane + Lou
Jane + Lou is another Calgary based children’s clothing line. The company was established in 2016 by designer, maker and owner Maeg Kinvigby. Jane + Lou, makes kids clothing out of organic fabrics that are sustainable, renewable and biodegradable. The brand is named after Maeg’s two adorable young daughters who are a huge inspiration to her work.
Petite Chou-fleur Designs
Petite Chou-fleur Designs and produces small batch, high quality baby clothing. Owner, Kasia Taekeua creates stylish and practical outfits for babies. I absolutely adore all the summer rompers and onesies from this store. All Of Kasia’s clothes are made of high quality organic and eco-conscious fabrics. Many of her prints are modern yet feminine and whimsical.
OLE design
Olena Gurr is the founder & creative director of OLE design. The inspiration to start making modern baby apparel & accessories came from raising her two small children. OLE design is dedicated to using only natural fabrics for their baby & kid apparel. The company follows the latest fashion trends so your little ones can be the most stylish and comfortable kids on the block.
