Back in September, I shot an in-home lifestyle newborn session for my friend Shauna and her husband Lyndon. Two week before, they welcomed their sweet baby boy Harrison into the world. Watching people you love snuggle with their perfect new baby is pretty awesome. Shauna and Lyndon are naturals with baby Harrison. They look so comfortable and relaxed gazing down at their adorable baby boy.
During our session, Shauna mentioned that little Harrison has a signature look. She told me that Harrison always makes this adorable face where he sticks out his little tongue. As I snapped photos, I made sure to capture lots of photos of this adorable expression. Those first few days maybe hard, tiring and exhausting but they are also so wonderful. I hope these photos help Shauna and Lyndon remember the first few weeks with their newborn baby boy. I love capturing special those little details that are unique to each child. These are the details that make parents fall in love with their babies.
This newborn session was the last one I shot before my baby girl Eloise was born. I am so lucky that Shauna is on maternity leave at the same time as me! It’s so awesome that our babies can grow up playing together. Having a friend who is also going through the newborn newborn phase is amazing! I am so thankful to be able to text Shauna in the middle of the night when we are feeding our babies.
